Meet the Founder

Hi! My name is Sara Smith and I’m the founder of RSN. I have always had a passion for children and their development from a young age, and I love having the opportunity to continue my impact by being a full-time nanny, as well as placing amazing nannies with equally amazing families. 

I graduated from the University of Michigan - Ross School of Business with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 2021 and moved to California to work in finance. I spent 8 months in the corporate world, feeling unfulfilled and lost. After numerous difficult and vulnerable conversations with family, friends, and mentors, I decided to pursue the joys of nannying full-time. I resigned from my finance position, and began, what would become, the best career! It was not an easy step, but it was one of the most important changes I’ve pursued and I have never looked back.

RSN was a dream I had immediately after moving to California. And that’s exactly what it felt like– a dream. I spent hours brainstorming and journaling ideas of how this business would operate and my methodology behind placements. I am so excited to have this dream become reality! The Metro Detroit area deserves a nanny agency that is looking out for everyone’s best interests and I love having the opportunity to provide just that.

While continuing to nanny full-time, I am eager to help nannies and families find their perfect match. Having worked with countless agencies in the past, I’ve experienced both sides of the relationship and feel confident in making strong placements.

While residing in Ann Arbor, I absolutely love spending time outside and enjoying all that each season has to offer. Football season and tailgating for my Alma Mater is one of the best ways to spend a Saturday - Go Blue! Outside of nannying, I spend lots of time running around the city and training for races, having completed four full Marathons (Chicago and NYC being two of my favorites). I am also a loyal member of the local running community, being ambassadors for both Lululemon and Fleet Feet!
